The 19-year-old Woodbridge man was working underneath his vehicle on the 13400 block of Greenacre Drive in Woodbridge on Monday, Jan. 22, when the car fell on top of him, pinning him underneath, the Prince William County Police Department said.
Fire and rescue responded and confirmed the death, and no signs of foul play were reported. The cause of death has not been confirmed and will be pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Meanwhile, two GoFundMe campaigns have been launched for Arevalo's family, including his unborn baby.
"It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that that our oldest, Javi, has passed on, leaving us grief stricken," Karen Lazo writes on one campaign. "Javi had a passion for cars and speed, he was always a sweet loving kid and remained that way as a young adult.
"We ask that in lieu of flowers, consider making a donation towards the funeral costs to help us honor his memory the way he deserves. We are also asking for donations to help support his unborn child’s future."
"We lost a son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend and future father in a tragic accident," Yesenia Elvira writes on a second campaign.
"Everyone that knew Javi could tell you how beautiful his smile was. Such a kind hearted person always brightening up everyone’s day. Always took the time to help others in need and opened his heart to everyone.
"We are going to truly miss you but we know you always be with us and love you always. We would like to give Javier the proper send off and any money left over to help with his future baby. Thank you all who take the time to help us in these hard times."
